Core Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging daily lesson plans that align with state or Common Core standards.
Student Assessment:
Design, administer, and grade quizzes, tests, and homework to evaluate comprehension.
Data-Driven Instruction:
Monitor individual student progress, identify learning gaps, and adjust teaching strategies to help struggling students succeed.
Classroom Management:
Maintain a structured, inclusive, and productive classroom environment where students feel safe asking questions.
Communication:
Regularly communicate with parents, guardians, and school administrators to discuss academic progress and behavior.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
Certification:
State-issued teaching license with Mathematics certification (if working in a public school system).
Subject Mastery:
Deep understanding of advanced algebraic concepts, including quadratic equations, rational expressions, and exponential functions.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional communication, patience, and the ability to break down complex mathematical concepts for diverse learners.
Certification/License:
Valid Virginia Certification as a Mathematics Education Teacher for the appropriate grade level and class. Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Experience:
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate subject matter preferred.
