Overview

Brightpoint Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education and one of the largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. Located in the Greater Richmond metropolitan area, the college serves students and the community at its two campuses in Chester and Midlothian, online, and in locations throughout its service area. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs.

Part‑time adjunct faculty teaching. Limits:
Max 8 credit hours in summer, 12 in fall, 12 in spring. Restrictions may apply depending on other VCCS positions.

Teach oxyacetylene, shielded metal arc, and inert‑gas welding including equipment, safety operations, and welding practice. Involve classroom and laboratory instruction.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field OR an associate or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the field.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check.
