Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state's oldest and largest pecan grove. Richard Bland College is accepting applications for its adjunct faculty pool in Logistics.

This pool provides a source of qualified instructors for potential teaching assignments as needed. Adjunct faculty may teach a range of Logistics courses, support interdisciplinary collaboration, advise students, and contribute to departmental initiatives under the direction of the Social & Behavioral Sciences Department Chair. Applications will remain active for up to 2 years and will be reviewed as instructional needs arise.

This position's major responsibilities include:

  • Teaching Logistics courses in accordance with college and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and submitting timely grade reports and other reports on student performance, as required.
  • Organizing class activities and assignments, relating them to the overall learning outcomes of the courses.
  • Providing input and working with other faculty and staff to review, produce, and/or select course-related materials.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Leadership, Engineering Management, Logistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the subject area(s) of instruction.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of effective communication and instruction.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and collaborative style.

Additional considerations:

  • Terminal Degree in Business, Leadership, Engineering Management, Logistics, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least two years of experience teaching in a higher education environment, preferably at the junior college/community college level.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and challenges of first- and second-year college students.
  • Evidence of teaching effectiveness, including the ability to effectively respond to the academic needs of learners from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
