Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are currently seeking adjunct faculty members for daytime, in-person teaching assignments at our Culpeper location in the field of Geography. This position will work with the Future Educators Academy (FEA) a Virginia Collegiate Partnership Lab School.

FEA must meet VDOE requirements for Virginia Teacher Licensure. Ideal candidates would hold a K12 Virginia Teaching License. If applicants do not hold an active k12 Virginia Teaching License, Germanna Community College may provide the opportunity for the additional VDOE requirements.

This position is located in Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.

Duties and Tasks:

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

Essential Functions:

As a part of the primary responsibility to provide quality instruction, the College expects each faculty member to meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; and adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.

This wide salary range reflects the diverse faculty ranks within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Final salary determination and placement within this range are based on the candidate's academic credentials and occupational experience as evaluated via the VCCS-10 process.

Special Assignments

KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree with at least eighteen graduate semester hours in the specific discipline. Official transcripts will be required prior to final offer. Ability to demonstrate the use of relevant technology and learning management systems to effectively facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication. Commitment to student engagement in the online teaching environment including maintaining consistent communication and virtual support mechanisms to ensure student success.
