Workforce Training - Adjunct Instructor of Carpentry
Southwest Virginia Community College is seeking a skilled carpentry instructor to teach a NCCER Carpentry workforce training class. You will guide adult students through basic safety, hand and power tools, construction math, and blueprint reading to prepare them for construction jobs.
Job duties include teaching the NCCER carpentry curriculum, leading hands-on shop and lab practice, tracking student attendance and grades, and ensuring a safe classroom and lab environment. Classes will be taught on the main campus of Southwest Virginia Community College, primarily as evening classes.
Required qualifications include active NCCER Certified Instructor status (or ability to get certified), a high school diploma or GED (college degree is a plus), minimum 3 to 5 years of real-world carpentry and construction experience, and good communication and teaching skills.
