Job Summary:

Germanna Community College is seeking a Part-time Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program Assistant in the Academic Center for Excellence at the Locust Grove Campus. The (SI) Program Assistant is responsible for arranging academic support for Germanna students in the Locust Grove Academic Center for Excellence ( ACE ). The incumbent will greet students in person, over the telephone, or via Zoom to determine their needs and will arrange on campus or online tutoring appointments in the Day Smart Appointment Center, provide them with supplementary academic resources, or direct them to ACE’s online or on campus math and writing centers, as well as Brainfuse.

The SI Program Assistant will also provide coverage for the ACE Online Zoom room. The SI Program Assistant will also be responsible for creating and maintaining office files, registering nursing students for workshops, and assisting students with general academic concerns. The SI Program Assistant will serve as a liaison with the Nursing Department to ensure that academic remediation is arranged for nursing students.

The incumbent’s primary work responsibility is to support the Supervisor of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program through the creation and maintenance of spreadsheets, files, and databases necessary for retrieving statistical data and generating reports.

At the end of each semester, the SI Program Assistant will collect grade data from the courses supported with SI and analyze the results. The incumbent is also responsible for distributing end-of-semester surveys to students and faculty for the Supervisor to analyze.
