Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay.
Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking and many other activities. Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in the designated discipline/field of study to students from a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences. We are seeking someone who is able to teach Clinical Nursing both in-person and online.
Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer session. Teaching load is based on student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty contract contains no expectation or guarantee of continued employment.
Germanna Community College invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions in clinical nursing for the following areas: CNA, LPN, RN. This position is located in Virginia. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.
Duties and Tasks:
- Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
- Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
- Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of GCC and the VCCS.
- Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

This wide salary range reflects the diverse faculty ranks within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Final salary determination and placement within this range are based on the candidate's academic credentials and occupational experience as evaluated via the VCCS-10 process.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for all positions (CNA and LPN)
- Official transcripts will be required prior to final offer
- Complete Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching
Additional Considerations:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) – especially for the RN program
- Prior teaching experience
- Work experience in the field
- Experience with on-line teaching
- Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools
