Your background in special education, specifically working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, will empower you to create inclusive lesson plans, adapt curriculum, and advocate for accessible instruction. Youll help pave the way for academic and social growth, making a direct impact in the lives of children.
What were looking for:- Valid Virginia Teaching License
- Special Education endorsement for Deaf and Hard of Hearing PreK-12 required
- Experience with elementary age students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to tailor instructional strategies for varying learning needs
- Passion for supporting the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community
- Providing direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students within the elementary caseload
- Consulting with general education teachers to ensure curriculum accessibility
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Utilizing various communication modalities and assistive technologies
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed
- Serving as a resource and advocate for students and their families
- Maintaining clear documentation in accordance with regulatory guidelines
