Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute Math Teacher for Prospect Heights Middle. This position requires an individual who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment and helping students develop their mathematical skills. The successful candidate will take on the responsibilities of a regular classroom teacher, ensuring continuity in instruction and supporting students' academic growth during their absence.

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.
• Teach various mathematical concepts and skills, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and class participation, providing timely feedback.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and address any academic or behavioral challenges.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students.
• Utilize technology and resources effectively to enhance instruction and student engagement.

• Valid teaching certification or license in Mathematics for middle school level preferred.
• Previous teaching experience, particularly in a middle school setting, is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet the varying needs of students, including those with diverse learning styles.
• Proficient in using educational technology and tools to support instruction and learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
