Job Description

Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs. Central Virginia Community College ( CVCC ) seeks a dynamic Program Coordinator/Director to oversee the daily operations of the CVCC Amherst Off-site Center and serve as the primary administrator for the Amherst County Early College Program.

This position coordinates academic programming, student support services, and dual enrollment initiatives while fostering strong partnerships between CVCC and the Amherst community.

The Program Coordinator/Director works collaboratively with college administrators, faculty, staff, school division leaders, counselors, teachers, students, and families to support student success, expand educational opportunities, and ensure the effective operation of the Early College Program.

The position serves as a key liaison between the college and local public schools, promoting seamless transitions from high school to post-secondary education.

This position may require day, evening, and occasional weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the CVCC Amherst Center.
  • Administer and coordinate the Amherst County Early College Program, including student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and completion activities.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, teachers, and college personnel to ensure effective delivery of college courses and student support services.
  • Coordinate student services and facilitate access to admissions, registration, advising, financial aid, accessibility services, and other college resources for Early College.
