We are currently offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus for EPG Rental Technician new hires. $1,000 is payable after 90 days of employment, and the remaining $1,000 after 180 days.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Technician in Winchester, Virginia. The technician will service, diagnose, and repair EPG rental equipment, including power, temperature control, air, pumps, and used equipment at Carter or customer facilities. Candidates should have experience with UPS and parallels, diagnosing engine failures, mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems, and related equipment.

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Requirements include:

• Thorough understanding of Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, and pumps
• Ability to perform product improvement plans on Gensets, air compressors, fuel tanks, pumps, UPS, and paralleling
• Ability to work independently in the field to support all PSD rental equipment
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Organization and workload prioritization skills
• Availability for after-hours emergency service (24/7/365)
• Willingness to work additional hours and travel, including out of country
• Experience with electronic software applications
• Good driving record with ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification
• Commitment to excellent customer service

Physical requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items up to 70 pounds
• Repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing
