Responsibilities
  • Managing inspections, records, and outages (planned and unplanned).
  • Monthly reporting.
  • On‑site support during associated site BESS construction and commissioning.
  • Substation and medium‑voltage equipment inspections.
  • Perform high‑voltage electrical work, including managing and executing outages to support construction activities.
  • Receive, execute, and complete daily work orders in a timely fashion, planning each workday to achieve objectives within a normal 8‑hour period and avoiding overtime.
  • Participate in special projects such as pre‑commissioning/checkout of new substations, stage additions, or substation inspections and commissioning preparation.
  • Comply with safe clearance procedures and wear correct high‑voltage PPE at all times.
  • Participate diplomatically in meetings with regulatory inspectors and representatives of other companies.
  • Perform all work safely in compliance with company safety policy.
  • Preventative and corrective maintenance of substation components.
  • Conduct electrical testing using appropriate PPE and procedures.
  • Prepare reports to comply with deliverables in O&M contracts.
  • Assist in all areas of preventative and corrective maintenance as directed by supervisor.
  • Attend training sessions on equipment provided by the manufacturer and approved by management.
  • Use equipment and resources in accordance with company instructions.
  • Maintain adherence to company policies, quality, environmental health and safety policies, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Obtain fluid analysis from oil‑filled transformers for standard chemical and electrical property analysis in accordance with ASTM guidelines.
  • Construction, installation, and maintenance of cable tray, high‑voltage cable terminations, ground grids, underground duct banks, and control wiring for various electrical equipment.
  • Thermal scans and oil sampling.
  • Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power quality meters, insulation resistance testers, high‑potential testers, phase sticks, phase rotation meters, digital test equipment, and cable locating and fault‑finding equipment as needed daily.
  • Perform routine installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in high‑voltage switchyards, substations, and power operation centers.
Qualifications
  • NFPA 70E, Substation Maintenance training certification.
  • Experience with low‑voltage systems including maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing power breakers.
  • OSHA 10 – General Industry or Construction Certified; CPR certified before starting work.
  • Ability to become a qualified person per NESC, NEC, NFPA 70F.
  • Ability to perform regular field inspections and investigations with considerable physical activity.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in awkward positions for extended periods.
Summary

Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, as occasional travel for company business is required. Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and not require employer‑sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
