Position TitleHigh‑Powered Microwave Systems Engineer
About the RoleAs a Systems Engineer on our team, you’ll have the chance to deliver products and services to government clients in the directed energy field. You will work on complex technical problems, provide highly innovative solutions, develop advanced technology ideas, and guide system development into a final product. You will apply knowledge of the systems engineering (SE) discipline across one or more components of the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including concept development, technical planning, requirements development, system analysis, system design, integration, verification, transition, operations, obsolescence, and disposal.
You will participate in program integrated product teams (IPTs) and drive the proper application of SE processes. You will need to demonstrate experience with the SE process for system acquisitions, including SE plans, system engineering technical reviews (SETRs), system certification processes, and specialty engineering activities. You’ll develop your skills in SE, gain experience in rapid acquisitions and fielding systems aboard Navy ships, and grow your skills in directed energy technology, integration, and testing.

- 4+ years of experience performing SE on software‑intensive systems
- Experience writing technical performance requirements
- Experience developing interface requirements
- Knowledge of Agile and Development, Security, and Operations (Dev Sec Ops ) software development approaches
- Knowledge of software configuration management, trouble report tracking, test and evaluation, and Test Observation Reports (TORs)
- Knowledge of SETR events such as System Requirements Reviews (SRRs), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs)
- Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience performing SE on weapon systems
- Experience writing specifications such as System Requirements Documents (SRDs) and Subsystem Requirements Documents (SSRDs)
- Experience with Naval HPM systems, MBSE, and MBSE tools
- Experience supporting the generation of Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs)
- Experience with combat system integration, command and control, weapon control, networks, display systems, and communications systems
- Experience performing risk management and using requirements management tools such as Jira, DOORS, or CAMEO
- Knowledge of Navy weapon systems cybersecurity, system safety, and certification processes
- Ability to identify and support the test and integration activities required to verify and validate the system against requirements and needs
- Master’s degree
- Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
