Job Description
The primary role of a Construction Manager is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities in various fields such as engineering, research and development, financial systems, and product roll-out. This position involves overseeing the construction of a mission-critical data center facility, focusing on mechanical systems including chilled water generation and distribution, CRAH/CRAC units, AHUs, evaporative cooling, heat-rejection equipment, mechanical piping systems, and more.
Responsibilities
+ Review mechanical design documents, specifications, and IFC packages.
+ Validate compliance with codes, OEM requirements, and design standards.
+ Respond to RFIs and coordinate clarifications across multidisciplinary teams.
+ Evaluate equipment selections, submittals, shop drawings, and proposed substitutions.
+ Conduct field walks to verify installation against drawings and specifications.
+ Support installation sequencing and constructability reviews.
+ Oversee equipment placement, clearances, anchorage, vibration isolation, and safety compliance.
+ Monitor piping fabrication, welding QA/QC, and pressure testing.
+ Resolve field nonconformances and track corrective actions.
+ Review mechanical inspection checklists, weld maps, hydrostatic test records, and flushing plans.
+ Validate built conditions and redlines for turnover documentation.
+ Audit contractor performance for compliance with quality requirements.
+ Coordinate MEP interfaces with electrical, structural, civil, plumbing, and controls disciplines.
+ Support BIM coordination and clash-resolution efforts.
+ Participate in weekly OAC and MEP trade coordination meetings.
+ Ensure mechanical systems integrate with electrical infrastructure, UPS rooms, battery rooms, and data halls.
+ Develop and review commissioning scripts and procedures.
+ Witness functional testing, equipment startup, CHW balancing, and control-point testing.
+ Validate operational sequences and Basis-of-Design intent.
+ Support IST punchlist creation, closure, and final turnover documentation.

Work Environment
The position is based onsite in Boydton, working 40 hours per week with an additional 10 hours of overtime weekly. The work environment involves adhering to high standards of safety, workmanship, and professionalism, while ensuring compliance with ASHRAE standards, IMC, ASME B31.1/9, NFPA codes, and other relevant guidelines.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $87.00 - $97.00/hr.
