Position: New Graduate Project Engineer I - Traffic Analysis & Planning

Job Description

Timmons Group is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidate for our Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning Group.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

* Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis;

* Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation;

* Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems

* Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.

* Work to complete design details and plan sets

* Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff

* Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff

* Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

* A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred

* EIT preferred

* Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred
