Knowledge of large-scale data centers, multi-tenant facilities, and electrical infrastructure systems is required. Excellent communication skills, ability to work within a matrix organization, fluency in design software, and analysis of electrical power systems are essential.

The candidate will be involved in the development of complex electrical systems ranging from incoming utility design down to the rack. Project involvement spans due diligence, construction, commissioning, and ongoing support for internal operations teams. Responsibilities include preparing various documents such as facility review checklists, audits, statements of work (SOW), total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, concept design reviews, drawing reviews, budgets, schedules, and factory test and acceptance documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate market-available multi-tenant facilities (e.g., colocation) for acquisition into the portfolio.
  • Manage power system issues during concept design, detailed design, procurement, bidding, manufacturing, delivery, and on-site installation.
  • Resolve issues raised by cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Assess data center designs based on redundancy levels, availability targets, and single points of failure (SPOFs).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver electrical solutions for third-party data center projects.
  • Conduct technical due diligence, QA/QC, and ensure successful product delivery aligned with internal standards.
  • Reinforce standards across regions to ensure consistency.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (control systems, mechanical) and understand interrelated issues.
  • Update and maintain internal design specifications, drawings, and standards based on lessons learned and real-time feedback.
  • Proficient in U.S. codes and standards, with knowledge of IEC standards.
  • Review detailed shop drawings and sequences of operation.
  • Work with internal teams on allowable power loading within multi-tenant facilities for rack deployment and load balancing.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; M.S. and P.E. preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience with mission-critical facilities, with a focus on market-available multi-tenant data center facilities.
  • Expertise in power system analysis and engineering software packages.
  • Experience in bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning electrical distribution systems from high-voltage transformers to branch circuits.
  • General knowledge of cross-discipline teams: structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural.
  • Experience with colocation facilities is required.
  • Domestic and international travel as needed (up to 30%).
