Summary:
- Location: Surry, VA
- Duration: 12 Months with options to extend to multiple years
- Work Mode: Surry Power Station & hybrid
- 4x10 day shift; 6x12 during outage, potential for night shift
- Per Diem Available
- Develop and review Design Changes, calculations, and technical evaluations in support of large capital projects.
- Collaborate with Engineers of Choice and manufacturers to ensure designs meet technical specifications and station design/license basis.
- Work on projects including 96” circulating water intake piping replacement, 4160V Cable Replacement, Fuel Handling Cranes Replacement, Containment cooling coil replacement, and R22 Elimination.
- Professional Engineer License.
- Qualifications at a nuclear power station in the last 3 years, including Design Change, Calculations, and 50.59 applicability/screen.
- Strong analytical capability in steel and concrete design.
- Proficient in the nuclear Standard Design Process and license/design basis assessment per 10
CFR
50.59. - Construction and implementation experience.
- Able to apply practical solutions to field problems.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written, internally to the team and with external vendors.
- Ability to lead, collaborate, and work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
- B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Engineering Mechanics.
- Experience in commercial nuclear power plants within the last 3 years or architect/engineer companies such as Sargent & Lundy, Enercon, Zachry, and similar.
- Experience with GTStrudl.
- Experience with MathCAD.
- Overtime generally available; required during implementation and outages.
