Lighting Designer/Engineer Intern/Co-op Fall 2026
CMTA, a Legence company
CMTA is a fast‑growing engineering firm with nationally recognized expertise in sustainable, high‑performance building engineering. The firm leverages a data‑driven, holistic approach to consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero‑energy projects.
The core business of our Energy Solutions division is the delivery of Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs). ESPCs allow facilities to be upgraded or renovated in a budget‑neutral or even budget‑positive manner by diverting money already spent on utilities into facility upgrades, covering scope development, design, bidding, construction management, commissioning, measurement and verification, and ongoing energy‑management services.
CMTA Energy Solutions offers a robust co‑op program for college students pursuing a degree in engineering. The program provides an immersive experience in Guaranteed Energy Savings Performance Contracting for one or more semesters and develops industry skills through collaborative project tasks under the supervision of professional engineers.
Lighting co‑ops will gain hands‑on experience with commercial lighting systems, and by the end of the program will be able to deliver a full LED lighting upgrade design from scratch.
