Program BackgroundVMMT-204 is the Department of Defense’s largest and only formal training squadron for the MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft. The squadron supports pilot and crew chief training for the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) partners, including the Japanese Defense Force. This mission represents a single point of failure for V-22 pilot production across the DoD.
Contractor Maintenance Support (CMS) provides the majority of aircraft maintenance manpower to sustain 22–24 MV-22 aircraft used for continuous training operations. CMS personnel ensure aircraft readiness, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted pilot production, critical to global operational requirements.
The Technical Writer III is a senior-level aviation documentation and logistics professional supporting MV-22 Osprey maintenance and readiness programs. While this is a single labor category, the role supports multiple specialized functional areas within aviation logistics and maintenance management. The selected candidate will be assigned to one specialty area based on experience and program needs. This role requires deep familiarity with NAVAIR and NAMP publications, and the ability to independently manage, document, and oversee complex aviation logistics programs while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
