Location:
Bluemont, VA. Duration: 6-month contract to hire. Will process them for a public trust clearance (usually takes about 2-6 weeks). The client is Telecommunication. There is a large emphasis on Cisco Call Manager and Cisco CUCM experience.
This role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing critical voice, data, and satellite networks. The specialist will provide Tier 2 expert assistance for network operations and support the acquisition and installation of new hardware and software. This position requires working at the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center (MWEOC) Network Operations Center, with potential for work at a backup location in Winchester, Virginia, and occasional telework.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor, troubleshoot, configure, and manage voice, data, and satellite networks.
- Provide Tier 2 expert assistance for operating and managing the transport network.
- Plan, evaluate, and configure routers, bridges, and other network devices.
- Manage systems for satellite tracking and provide digital data services to mobile and portable units.
- Support new hardware and software acquisition and installation.
- Ensure WAN services at fixed and disaster sites are operational and assist in resolving interface issues.
- Perform shift work, overtime, and weekend tours as required, approximately every 8-9 weeks.

5+ years of related professional experience. Technical
Skills:
- Proficiency in Cisco Voice Over IP, Avaya Aura Audio Conference Bridge, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco CUCM Unity, Avaya PBX, multiplexers, Cisco switches and routers, TCP/IP, and Windows.
- Ability to plan, evaluate, and configure routers, bridges, and other network devices.
- Expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, and managing voice, data, and satellite networks.
- Experience with the operation and management of systems associated with satellite tracking and providing digital data services.
- Able to obtain & maintain public trust clearance
- Availability for occasional travel and to perform other duties as assigned.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, CISSP, or CCIE.
