A reputable chemical manufacturing company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chemical Engineer for their Pittsylvania County, VA facility.
Responsibilities:
The ideal Chemical Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
- Drives process improvement initiatives by introducing new ideas, using data to prioritize opportunities, and building alignment across teams, including sustainability efforts
- Leads troubleshooting and root cause analysis for safety, quality, and production issues, applying continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodologies where needed
- Manages and executes projects through MOC and capital processes, ensuring proper tracking, compliance, and successful implementation
- Partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and R&D to deliver improvement projects while supporting key safety and operational reviews
- Provides day-to-day process engineering support, including production troubleshooting, scheduling coordination, system optimization (OEE, DCS), and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
The ideal Chemical Engineer will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience with batch plant monomer and/or oligomer chemistries
