We are seeking experienced Solar Project Engineers to support the execution of utility-scale solar construction projects throughout Virginia. This role will be part of the Construction Projects team and will work closely with Construction Project Managers to oversee EPC contractor activities, manage technical project issues, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in compliance with contractual, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
The organization is currently constructing approximately 1,000 MWAC of solar generation capacity annually. Project Engineers will support projects ranging from 1 MW to more than 150 MW and will be assigned to construction execution teams responsible for daily project oversight.
This position requires significant field presence, with an expected travel commitment of 75% or more to active solar construction sites throughout Virginia.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
Prior experience working as a Field Engineer or Project Engineer on utility-scale solar construction projects.
Strong technical knowledge of renewable energy generation systems, solar facilities, construction methods, and electrical power systems.
Experience supporting large-scale EPC construction projects.
Strong understanding of power distribution and transmission systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
