Summary of
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop technically VIP projects to ensure the best profit from equipment, raw materials, and tools.
- Manage projects achieving objectives within time, scope, cost, and quality goals.
- Ensure the fulfillment of annual cost reduction commitments for the area.
- Ensure compliance with occupational safety standards in all equipment designed, acquired, and/or developed internally.
- Project future improvements to help the area become more competitive, improving performance indicators like OEE or SPC.
- Conduct research and execute actions according to CAPAs related to laser processes, machining, or other required by the organization.
- Advise the organization on laser technology, including marking, cutting, welding, raw material cleaning, passivation processes, cleaning of components in process, etc., providing support for problem-solving with external suppliers and the Hologic CR process. Must also have knowledge in the development of machining processes using CNC control equipment, plastic injection, ultrasonic welding, and adhesive use in the medical industry.
- Manage and lead the assigned technical resources, providing coaching, following up on engineers and/or technicians using tools like 1:1's and performance evaluations, ensuring the fulfillment of strategic objectives outlined by the organization and deriving specific objectives in the area.
- Lead the implementation and validation of significant changes in the production process, coordinating with different groups within and outside the organization for the correct execution of such changes, in accordance with the Quality System.
- Lead complex problem-solving teams, collaborating with the organization and planning activities, providing technical support to tackle diverse problems with effective solutions.
- Assist, optimize, validate, and implement the introduction of new products and new manufacturing processes using technologies not previously developed in the facility, in accordance with quality requirements and guidelines established by FDA and ISO regulations, with the purpose that different projects are deliverable on time, within the budget and scope planned, using best practices in project management.
- Create material lists, processes, dimensions, and procedures for the development of models and equipment that improve the quality and productivity of the process.
- Prepare documentation and manuals related to the processes and operations of current production equipment and newly developed equipment.
- Track materials, dimensions, problems, and/or waste, with the purpose of verifying the theoretical with what is established in the plan and/or project.
- Prepare monthly reports to the management to follow up on projects and activities carried out during the week.
- Perform other related activities with the technical area that the organization requires.
Create and maintain a roadmap of innovation projects that generate VIPs with a vision for a period of 3 years.

- High school diploma in mechanical engineering, electromechanics, industrial, materials, or a related field.
- Desirable to have a master's degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a technical professional in similar positions or 4 years of experience in the medical industry.
- Courses in electromechanics, preventive maintenance, ISO 13485 and FDA standards, precision mechanics, pneumatics. Skills to transmit clear and objective information through presentations and email.
- Project administration or management. Green Belt-Six Sigma-Lean Manufacturing
- Spanish/Advanced English
- MS Office Project, Excel & PowerPoint, Solidworks, Minitab.
- Advanced knowledge level required.
Other tools:
Knowledge in the use of drawing programs (Solid Works), AutoCAD, Inventor, CNC programming (Surfcam), Swiss lathe programming, CNC bases in 2 to 7 axes.
