Process Technologist – Martinsville, VA site (Performance Films). This role leads technical efforts to support manufacturing processes and collaborates with operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, and business leadership. Primary responsibilities include identification and implementation of improvement projects and day-to-day process support. The position reports to the site process engineering manager.

• Day-to-day support and troubleshooting of films manufacturing processes
• Interact with operators on the manufacturing floor to obtain feedback on a frequent basis
• Identify and aid in execution of capital projects
• Lead projects to implement changes to process and equipment to improve safety, quality, and productivity using Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement tools (including statistical analysis)
• Facilitate root cause analysis of process upsets, equipment failures, and customer complaints to implement corrective actions
• Maintain operational documentation of manufacturing process, asset capabilities and capacities
• Ensure product quality specifications are established and customer fitness for use expectations are met
• Participate in cross-functional problem-solving and improvement teams at the department and division level
• Collaborate with new product development, product management, R&D, and customers to create and implement new materials/processes into large-scale manufacturing

• 5+ years of experience required
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with a technical focus
• Experience with wet coating applications, convection drying, lamination, or Roll to Roll Web Technology desired
• Methodical approach to problem-solving and ability to independently implement solutions
• Experience utilizing statistical methods to solve problems and evaluate complex issues; strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication at all organizational levels
• Bias for action toward making changes that improve processes, products, and people

The base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $115,500.
