As an Injury Prevention Specialist in Amazon's Transportation & Logistics EHS team, you will analyze workplace tasks, identify ergonomic and safety risks, and design data-driven prevention programs for drivers, sortation centers, and delivery stations. You will conduct site assessments, lead incident investigations, and partner with operations to implement engineering, administrative, and training controls. Leveraging metrics and root-cause analysis, you will continuously improve safety performance while promoting Amazon's culture of innovation, inclusion, and customer obsession.
Responsibilities
- Conduct ergonomic and safety assessments for transportation, warehouse, and delivery operations.
- Analyze injury trends, near-miss data, and safety KPIs to identify root causes and prevention opportunities.
- Design and implement injury prevention programs, including safe lifting, material handling, and driving practices.
- Collaborate with operations, HR, and EHS leaders to implement engineering and administrative controls.
- Lead or support incident and injury investigations and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Develop and deliver safety and ergonomic training for associates, drivers, and leaders.
- Audit compliance with Amazon and regulatory safety standards (OSHA, DOT where applicable).
- Partner with data teams to track and report effectiveness of prevention initiatives.
- Support the integration of new processes, equipment, and technology with a safety-by-design approach.
- Promote a proactive safety culture aligned with Amazon's values of innovation and bias for action.
Required Skills
- Ergonomic assessment methods (REBA, RULA, NIOSH lifting equation)
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis (5-Why, fishbone)
- Data analysis and safety metrics (Excel/Tableau or similar)
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS standards
- Workplace risk assessment and hazard identification
- Program design for injury and musculoskeletal disorder prevention
- Safety training development and delivery
- Report writing and documentation
- Industrial/warehouse process understanding (material handling, conveyor, loading)
- Behavior-based safety and safety culture improvement
