The Accounting Manager plays a critical role in supporting Augusta Health’s mission and advancing departmental goals through measurable performance indicators and service excellence. This position contributes to a collaborative, patient-centered environment and helps drive outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Accounting Manager supervises accountants and accounts payable and is directly responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position manages to tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and works closely with analytics team members during month-end close and audit. The Accounting Manager will have contact with senior-level management and the organization’s key leaders (Department Directors and Managers) which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
• Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close and reporting processes.
• Reviews all reconciliation processes and files and approves such reconciliations per department policy.
