JOB DESCRIPTION
This position primarily performs audits of recipients of Claim Payments from the VPSTF to ensure claims filed for reimbursement were completed in accordance with the VPSTF Reimbursement Guidance Manual. This is a restricted position. Continued employment is contingent on the availability of grant or non-general funds. Please note this position follows a hybrid work schedule to include both in-office and telework.
Candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing Reimbursement Claim and Petroleum Program Audits; and developing detailed audit plans, procedures, task statements and methods to be used in accomplishing audit objectives, including process milestones and dates
QUALIFICATIONS
* Functional understanding of public administration and/or business administration.
* Experience or course work demonstrating knowledge in the following fields is required with specific expertise in one or two being highly desirable:
Accounting; financial systems management; systems analysis; fiscal auditing; statistical analysis.
* Knowledge of state laws, regulations, policies and practices as related to Virginia Petroleum Storage Tank Fund reimbursement requirements.
* Ability to read, interpret and apply state laws and regulations.
* Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Ability to query and analyze large amounts of relatively complex data using a PC from an Oracle database.
* Must be able to work independently without extensive supervision.
* A combination of related training, education coursework or equivalent work experience.
* Must complete an annual Statement of Economic Interest and Virginia State and Local Conflict of Interest Act Training (bi-annually).
