Chemical Operations Specialist

Overview

Join the front lines to protect against some of the world’s most powerful threats. As a Chemical Operations Specialist for the Army National Guard, you will support the country during natural disaster relief efforts and safeguard the nation from chemical and biological warfare.

• Train and supervise personnel on CBRN equipment and operations.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate NBC detection and decontamination equipment.
• Develop and implement disaster and emergency plans.
• Coordinate with civilian agencies during emergency response.

• Operation of CBRN decontamination, defense, detection, and monitoring equipment.
• Use of protective equipment.
• Hazardous Material Certification (awareness level).
• Effective communication, planning, and organization.
• Ability to remain calm under high stress.

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high‑school diploma or GED.
• Age between 17 and 35.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.
