Police Officer

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our law enforcement team as a Police Officer.

As a Police Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and upholding the law within our community.

Salary commensurate with experience.

• Enforce laws, respond to emergency calls, and patrol assigned areas
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
• Make arrests and participate in court proceedings
• Provide assistance to the public and ensure community safety
• Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records of incidents
• Look for suspicious activities and check on suspicious persons
• Respond to disturbance calls
• Arrest suspects who violate the law
• Respond to dispatched calls and complaints
• Assist in criminal investigations along with presenting evidence in court
• Assist in interviewing victims and witnesses
• Process property and evidence
• Record and present evidence in court cases
• Maintain a physical presence at events to prevent behavioral problems
• Perform other tasks as assigned and required by the Chief

• Candidates interested in this role must have a High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• MUST have a Current Virginia Law Enforcement Certification

• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Live or be willing to move within a 60 mile radius of Haymarket.
• Have the ability to read and comprehend Virginia Code and Departmental Policies.
