Sheriff's Office Intelligence Analyst
This position is a part-time role located in a secure jail environment with a salary range of $26.97 - $36.40 hourly. The job is based in Chesterfield, VA, and is part of Chesterfield County.
Minimum QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, or a related field; two years of experience in providing professional level, analytical and/or operational support in the criminal justice field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check (including polygraph examination), and education/degree verification required.
This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check.
Must be a US citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
The Sheriff's Office Intelligence Analyst will access, compile, analyze and disseminate information collected from a variety of law enforcement sources and will translate that data into criminal intelligence information. The position will be required to prepare a variety of statistical and narrative reports including crime information bulletins, crime summaries, and officer safety reports. The position will be vital in establishing and maintaining relationships with other law enforcement agencies to exchange pertinent information.
Performs other work as required. This position is part of an approved Career Development Plan (CDP) and offers career progression opportunities and salary incentives, as funding permits, based on performance, qualifications, and experience.
