About the RoleINTECON is seeking a Senior Editor to support the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Staff Action Support Services contract. The Senior Editor leads editorial review for the NGB Executive Secretariat, ensuring that all correspondence for the Office of the Director of the Joint Staff and the Chief of the National Guard Bureau is grammatically correct, properly formatted, and consistent with DoD and NGB writing standards prior to signature.
The successful candidate will manage assigned staffing products through editorial review, provide editorial advice and recommendations to NGB Action Officers, and provide publishing services in support of NGB issuances, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
- Provide recommendations for the development, coordination, and publication of NGB executive correspondence
- Edit and review NGB products and analyze impact against DoD and NGB writing standards
- Ensure all correspondence for the Office of the Director of the Joint Staff and CNGB is grammatically correct, properly formatted, and ready for executive review
- Provide editorial advice and recommendations to NGB Action Officers
- Manage assigned staffing products for editorial review with documented disposition
- Provide publishing services, including publishing, editing, and document design
- Assist with updating NGB issuances, manuals, and standard operating procedures
- Support the Action Officer Training Course with executive writing instruction
- Active Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Fully trained and qualified to perform all assigned duties at the start of performance; the Government does not provide training to contractor personnel
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality due to the sensitivity of information processed through the NGB Exec Sec Directorate
- Experience interfacing with senior military and civilian officials and the protocol involved
- Work experience in writing, editing, and research demonstrated by positions held in those career fields
- Educational background in English, Journalism, Political Science, Library Science, Education, History, and/or Public Policy
- Familiarity with DoD and NGB written correspondence and document formatting standards
Experience in the National Guard Bureau and knowledge of functions and missions of the National Guard
