Overview
The Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist provides evidence-based pharmaceutical care to patients in the ambulatory clinical setting. The care includes designing, implementing, assessing, monitoring, and documenting therapeutic plans using best evidence and cost-effective medications; and working with patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve positive patient outcomes. When appropriate, ambulatory care pharmacists may perform patient assessments, participate in collaborative practice agreements for medication management, provide collaborative drug therapy management, order, interpret, and monitor medication therapy-related tests, coordinate care and other health services for wellness and prevention of disease, educate patients and caregivers, and document care plans in the medical record.

The Augusta Cancer Center Infusion Pharmacy serves patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other advanced cancer treatments in a patient-focused setting.
What You ll DoAs the dedicated Outpatient Oncology Pharmacist, you will:
- Ensure safe, accurate, and patient-centered dispensing of oncology and specialty infusion therapies
- Provide direct clinical support for oncology providers, infusion nurses, and care teams
- Ensure treatment plan verification, drug interaction screening, and chemotherapy regimen safety
- Oversee the preparation of sterile products and coordinate IV admixture services
- Counsel patients and caregivers to promote understanding, adherence, and confidence throughout their cancer journey
- Support evolving oncology therapies, including targeted agents, immunotherapies, and precision medicine-driven care
- Contribute to continuous quality improvement, education, and teambased clinical excellence

- Education:
Bachelor s in Pharmacy with experience or Pharm.
D. from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy. Degree required. - Experience:
PGY-1 residency required or equivalent clinical experience. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Commonwealth of Virginia State Board of Pharmacy License required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

D from an ECPE-accredited College of Pharmacy. - Experience:
PGY-2 Residency training in clinical oncology in a hospital setting. - Licensure/
Certifications:
Board Certification or equivalent certification specific to clinical area highly encouraged.
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods; typing; proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail; ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull less than 20 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
Onboarding RequirementsBackground checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. Safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction may require a drug screen.
The starting base rate for this role is $64.37 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
