Lead Biomedical Technician

Location: Moon Township, PA, USA - 520 Lindbergh Drive

Schedule: Monday to Friday, must be available to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 7:30am-6pm. OT mandatory if required.

As a member of the Biomedical Center Leadership Team reporting to a Supervisor or Manager, the Lead Biomed Technician is responsible for leading teams while performing testing, service, and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment, including respiratory and ventilator devices.

• Serves as a mentor and coach, sharing knowledge and expertise effectively with Biomedical and utility technicians.
• Assures clean and orderly service area, providing a safe environment for service personnel.
• Responsible for meeting individual and department productivity goals.
• Works closely with leadership to improve current processes and procedures to deliver unparalleled quality results to customers and center.
• Competent with inventory processes, device management software, utility technician responsibilities and must complete all required training as directed by leader.
• Assists with resolving technical challenges and training biomedical and utility technicians.
• May be required to assist with internal or external audits and/or inspections.
• May be required to obtain licensing and/or certifications to meet compliance needs for the center.
• Must be familiar with management quality systems (ISO 13485).
• Demonstrates a strong ability to build and foster relationships with customers, account specialists, internal resources and leadership to solve technical problems and complaints.
• Capable of performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of biomedical equipment.
• Acts as local supervisor of the team during leader absence, serving as mentor for fellow biomed and utility technicians to improve competency and efficiency.
• Expected to drive business growth and productivity improvement initiatives, and demonstrate boundaryless teamwork to assist in any function within the Biomed Center.

• Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.

• 5+ years experience in the biomedical field.
• Demonstrated relationship and coaching skills.
• Advanced knowledge of biomedical devices serviced in house or extensive experience in a related field.
• Advanced ability to troubleshoot and repair medical devices.
• Ability to perform all job tasks at a high level of quality and detail, meeting or exceeding productivity expectations.
• Maintains compliance with all applicable standards (SOPs and work instructions) in performing job duties.
• Good decision-making skills.
• Ability to prioritize work.
• Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results.
• Organized with strong time management, communication and presentation skills.
• Demonstrates aptitude to learn the advanced use of biomedical systems (e.g., One Track) and various device testing software.
• Cursory knowledge and understanding of theory of operation of ventilator and respiratory devices; certification not required but must be able to coach and mentor vent-qualified technicians.

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office tools.
• Ability to lift 50+lbs.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$29.46 - $49.10
