Qualificationsand Experience Needed
- Active Physical Therapist license required
- Previous school-based experience is a plus, but not mandatory
- Experience in pediatrics or adolescent therapy encouraged
- Demonstrated ability to tailor interventions to individual student goals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with education staff and families
- Comfortable creating and executing treatment plans within educational environments
- Provide direct physical therapy services to a 19-year-old student, focusing on mobility, access, and functional independence in the school setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with academic goals and IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to adapt strategies and monitor progress
- Document services, progress notes, and assessments according to school and clinical requirements
- Offer guidance and support to educational teams regarding therapeutic equipment and accommodations
- Participate in student-centered meetings as a valued team member
