Located at 10031 Nash Road, VCU Health Chesterfield Pavilion will be a four-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot ambulatory surgery center and medical office building, bringing comprehensive, patient-centered outpatient care closer to residents in one of Virginia’s largest counties. Scheduled to open in April 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will bring together surgical services, diagnostics, infusion therapy, pharmacy services, innovative care models, and more in a single, convenient location for Chesterfield residents.

The Pharmacist Lead job ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following patient groups:
Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics.

Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.

Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy.

• Minimum of one (1) year of pharmacy practice experience in a similar setting.
• Previous experience with state-of-the-art drug distribution and clinical service methods, drug information sources and retrieval, and communication methods.

Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program.

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program.

• The monitoring, screening and verification of all drug-related orders for assurance of proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule, and ensuring expedited preparation and dispensing of all dosage forms by pharmacy personnel.
• Resolve drug therapy problems, clarify and correct problematic drug orders, designate pharmacy technicians to perform special assignments, counsel patients regarding the safe and proper use of their medications, and resolve equipment and operational problems.

Must be available to work evenings, nights, and weekends.
