Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract at an acute care hospital, requiring fluoroscopy experience and an active state license.

Details
  • Work in a 5-room Interventional Radiology unit consisting of 2 fluoroscopy rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, and 1 CT-capable room at a 255-bed acute care hospital
  • Average of 10–15 cases per day including joint injections, paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, nephrostomy and cholecystostomy tube placements and exchanges, abscess drains, port placements, biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, chest tube placements, and more
  • Day shift, 5x8 hours, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Rotating overnight OR call 1–2 days per week and 1 weekend per month
  • Holiday call coverage required for OR; PICC line assist coverage may also be required as needed
  • Charting performed in Meditech
  • Free parking available in any unrestricted space
Requirements
  • Fluoroscopy experience required
  • Active state license required if applicable
  • Current BLS required; ACLS and ARRT (VI) preferred
  • Experience with venous access, port access, PICC line care and maintenance, and central venous access (non-tunneled/PICC lines)
  • Proficiency with procedural responsibilities including room circulator duties, sterile field maintenance, equipment setup, site prep, and accurate monitoring
  • Experience with a broad range of IR procedures including genitourinary, abdominal/pelvic, and vascular interventions
  • Proficiency with fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound equipment; experience with Philips or Siemens systems preferred
  • Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, Star Close) preferred
  • PACS experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Candidates who live within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates who have worked permanently at this facility within the past 24 months will not be considered
  • Expect to work holidays during the assignment: one holiday worked if one falls in the assignment period, one of two if two fall, and two of three if three fall; any requested time off must be disclosed upfront
  • Allied/radiology professionals may start on Mondays or any other weekday, and start dates are flexible
  • This facility has a zero-tolerance policy for THC; medical marijuana cards are not accepted, and a drug screen will be conducted during compliance and again on day 1
  • Fit testing is required prior to start; travelers must be clean-shaven for the fit test or provide a provider letter approved by Employee Health Services in advance
  • Scrub color: black or Caribbean blue
