Employment Status:
Part time. Shift: Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) 7am–7pm with opportunity to pick up extra hours.

Education:

High school graduate or GED and graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training in CT, angiography, diagnostic radiology, MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine or ultrasound.

Experience:

CT experience strongly preferred.

Licensure/Certification: AARRT registry, eligible to register; if not registered in CT must become CT registered within 2years of hire date. AHA BLS‑HCP required; may need BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on work unit.

The multi‑modality Radiology Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures for radiological diagnosis or treatment of patients, using injection skills as needed, and other related techniques to produce images for interpretation by a radiologist or other credentialed specialist. Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required. May schedule and register patients.

Maintain patient files. Evaluates, prepares, positions and observes patients with a high degree of professional ethics, care, courtesy, patience and safety.

Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines. Trains students and staff as assigned. Interprets information needed to identify patient’s requirement relative to specific needs and provides care per applicable policy and procedures. Interacts with patients, families, visitors and all members of the healthcare team to develop, coordinate and manage the plan of care. Works with physicians, other healthcare providers and patients.

• Licensure/Certification: ARRT registry, eligible or other required certifications per modality. AHA BLS‑HCP required. Modality‑specific registries:
  Mammography must obtain registry within 24months; MRI – certified/registered by ARRT or by ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS or candidate for MRI advanced certification (2years). Breast ultrasound – registry within 24months.
• Other:
  Interpersonal, technical skills and flexibility; function independently; good computer and communication skills.

Range: $30.47 – $45.71 hourly. Employee pay based on qualifications, credentials, education and prior experience. Benefits and pension plan not included.
