Physical Therapist DetailsFull Time Schedules
Some weekends may be required
8 or 12 hour shifts available depending on the facility
Contract Position (flexible with shift availability is a plus)
Conduct comprehensive assessments of inmates' physical abilities, functional limitations, and rehabilitation goals using standardized evaluation tools and techniques.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, inmate preferences, and rehabilitation objectives.
Implement a variety of physical therapy interventions, such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait training, balance training, and functional mobility training, to address inmates' impairments and promote optimal recovery.
Evaluate and manage pain in inmates through therapeutic techniques, modalities, and patient education strategies, aiming to reduce pain levels and improce overall comfort.
Provide inmates with education on injury prevention, safe body mechanics, adaptive equipment use, and home exercise programs to support their rehabilitation progress and long term functional independence.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Collaborate with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, etc. to coordinate care, share information and optimize treatment outcomes for inmates.
Recommend and procure necessary assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and therapeutic resources to support inmates' rehabilitation goals and facilitate their participation in therapy sessions.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduation from an accredited educational institution
Licensed as a Physical Therapist (PT) by the State in which the position is located. The license MUST be in good standing
1+ year of relevant Physical Therapist (PT) experience
