DescriptionSummary:
The Surgical Technologist- LPN in the Operating Room is responsible for providing safe and effective patient care. The Surgical Tech II works under the direction of the RN, assisting in nursing care and preparation of surgical patient by performance of routine or delegated duties. Responsible for proper room set up, proficient in sterile technique, sets up sterile field with proper instrumentation, equipment and medications related to the procedure, assists the surgeon during the case, draping sterile field, gowning and gloving, counts sponges, sharps and instruments in accordance with policy.
Cross-trains to other areas of the Operating Room, i.e. central sterile technician to ensure proper decontamination and storage of surgical and endoscopic equipment. Prepares sterile dressings, holds instruments or retractors during procedures. Assists with room turnover in an efficient manner at the end of all cases. This position will demonstrate competency in the care of patients of all age groups.
Must be able to take call and/or work weekends as needed. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or an LPN program required. Experience of greater than six months as an LPN or ORT is preferred. Valid and active surgical tech certification or LPN licensure in appropriate state required. AHA BLS required

The range for this position is $21.42-$31.76. Actual rate is dependent upon experience.
