Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Physical Therapist, you will:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, improving muscle function, and maximizing patient performance based on established care protocols.
- Supervise and mentor Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) to ensure proper delivery of care treatments.
- Conduct detailed assessments of clients' physical abilities using diagnostic and functional tests to accurately evaluate their rehabilitation needs.
- Analyze client home environments and provide recommendations to enhance safety and independence during rehabilitation.
- Deliver prescribed physical therapy services in collaboration with referring physicians and in accordance with their treatment plans.
- Utilize diverse therapeutic techniques including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and physical modalities to effectively manage client conditions.
- Engage with clients and their families to teach them therapy techniques, device usage, and safety measures applicable to their home care routines.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Uphold the organization's standards of quality care and commitment to patient advocacy across all service lines.
This role emphasizes working with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic illnesses. Your ability to form strong rapport with clients and their families will be crucial in motivating them and achieving their rehabilitation goals.
QualificationsTo be successful in this position, you will need:
- A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution.
- A valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
- Current CPR certification, along with a valid driver's license and automobile insurance for any necessary travel for home assessments.
- A strong commitment to maintaining clinical excellence and upholding the highest standards of ethical care.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage clients, families, and team members.
