Patient Access Specialist

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support accurate, timely patient access and a positive financial experience. In this full-time role, you will register patients, verify insurance and benefits, obtain authorizations, and collect or estimate patient responsibility at or before the point of service. You will use EHR and revenue cycle systems to ensure clean claims and proper documentation, while educating patients on financial options and resolving access issues.

Working in a mission-driven, patient-focused, collaborative team, you will partner with clinical and revenue cycle staff to improve patient access, reduce denials, and support overall hospital performance.

Responsibilities

• Register patients accurately and completely in EHR and access systems.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and prior authorizations before service.
• Estimate and communicate patient financial responsibility and payment options.
• Collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances at point of service.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer rules, and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve access issues and reduce denials.
• Maintain high data quality to support clean claims and timely reimbursement.
• Provide patient-centered service, answering questions and addressing concerns.
• Monitor work queues and resolve registration, authorization, and coverage edits.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of patient access workflows and performance metrics.
