GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIESThe Nelson County ACT Team is recruiting for a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist to partner with severely mentally ill adults to help them live successfully in the community. The incumbent utilizes their experience as a primary mental health service provider to engage, motivate, and support ACT consumers. This position serves a diverse population of adults with mental illness in the community and requires professionalism, flexibility, dependability, belief in recovery from mental illness, patience, and the ability to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
Person-centered approach and service planning skills are critical.

Education- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- QMHP preferred
- One year of comparable experience is preferred.
- Peer Recovery Specialist certification required.
- To ensure the safe and efficient operation of the program, a valid Virginia Driver’s License plus an acceptable driving record as issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles are required.
- For business use of a personal car, a certificate of valid personal automobile insurance must be provided.
Full-Time (Non-Exempt) Rotating on-call shifts are eligible for additional compensation.
HOURLY SALARY RANGE- GRADE 8 (Non-Credentialed): $19.11 - $28.66 per hour
