Location: Yorktown
Responsible for assisting the Concessions Manager with the operations and maintenance of the concessions operation at the McReynolds Athletic Complex (MAC). Oversees front line staff, food/beverage sales and preparation, merchandise sales, cleaning and maintenance of concessions equipment and building. Must possess good public relations skills and the ability to carry out established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities- Open and close the concessions building daily; assign work tasks to Concessions Attendants.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and request supplies or equipment as needed.
- Reconcile daily sales reports in accordance with County policies and procedures.
- Resolve concerns, conflicts, and problems of patrons to ensure services are provided in a professional and safe manner.
- Prepare and sell food and beverages, including operation of equipment.
- Operate a point of sale (POS) system and a cash register system.
- Clean the concessions facility and surrounding area; ensure all supplies are returned to proper storage and coordinate with staff to restore the facility.
- Complete facility checklists and any maintenance requests.
- Perform work safely in accordance with department safety procedures and report unsafe conditions to the Concessions Manager.
- Accurately document and report accidents, injuries, and incidents to the Concessions Manager.
- Adhere to division, department, County policies and procedures, and Health Department guidelines.
- Exhibit a high degree of customer service skills and a positive attitude with patrons and staff at all times.
- Work as required, with no benefits.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent with supervisor/management experience.
- Experience with food preparation, equipment, sanitation, and hygiene preferred.
- Job is contingent upon successful completion of pre‑employment checks, including criminal history and background checks.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications within the first 30 days of hire.
- Food handling certification preferred, or willingness to attend a class to obtain certification.
- Working knowledge of facility operations, staff scheduling, and maintenance procedures.
- General knowledge of accounting and clerical processes.
- Excellent public relations and communication skills.
- Ability to supervise the work of others.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to operate food preparation equipment such as a microwave and popcorn machine.
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Requires regular, and at times sustained, performance of heavier physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, leaping, jumping down, standing in place, continual walking, lifting and carrying of moderate to heavy items consistently.
