Position Profile
Clean and prepare guest rooms and public areas to meet established standards of cleanliness and propriety, ensuring guest satisfaction and maximizing revenues.
Essential Responsibilities- Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms and set up cleaning carts with supplies.
- Clean windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures, using ladders or stools as needed.
- Wash shower walls, tubs, toilets, and restrooms, and wipe exposed pipes, mirrors, sinks, and walls.
- Replace towels, soaps, room amenities, and restock literature and stationery.
- Wash hard floor areas (linoleum, tile, etc.) by hand and dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
- Strip beds of all linen, remake with fresh linens, and inspect mattresses for soil or loose objects.
- Inspect closets, wiping doors, handles, and shelves, and restock guest room supplies such as hangers, blankets, and pillows.
- Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways, including under furniture and in hard‑to‑reach areas.
- Inspect all door and window locks and report any security or safety concerns to management.
- Inspect all room equipment (TV, lights, faucets, radios, phones) and report deficiencies in writing to the Executive Housekeeper.
- Secure and maintain custody of equipment, keys, and supplies at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Report missing articles, repairs needed, damage, mechanical problems, or safety hazards to the Supervisor.
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Ability to push and pull a loaded supply cart, carry a tote tray of replacement amenities, and operate a vacuum.
- Strong communication skills to convey hotel services to guests, vendors, staff, and management.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull carts.
- Good vision for detailed inspection.
- Manual dexterity for handling equipment and machinery in a hot, humid, and noisy environment where chemicals are used.
