The Manager, Provider Recruiting is responsible for leading and managing the recruitment of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers for Augusta Medical Group (AMG). This role proactively anticipates provider workforce needs and develops timely, effective recruitment strategies to support organizational growth and continuity of care. The Manager, Provider Recruiting oversees all aspects of the provider recruitment lifecycle, including coordination of onboarding activities for AMG providers, process improvement, and partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

This position also provides leadership for recruitment operations to ensure a positive candidate experience, efficient processes, and successful placement of well-qualified providers.

Education, Certification, Competencies, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
  • Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) preferred.
  • 3 years recruiting experience required
  • 5 years recruiting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry required
  • Experience in budgeting, management, and provider manpower studies required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, financial management, provider relations.
  • Advanced proficiency in various computer applications including Microsoft office, HRIS and recruiting systems, and databases.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including negotiation skills;
  • Ability to explain contracts, retirement, benefit plans, and compensation plans.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of social sensitivity and confidentiality when communicating with team members and candidates.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and manage a large workload in accordance with changing deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop alternate solutions.
Leadership
  • Provides management and oversite of Recruitment Department team members and processes.
  • Manages direct reports including coaching, performance reviews, educational training, development and providing discipline.
Operational
  • In collaboration with AMG business operations, coordinates provider contract, recruiting and onboarding process for AMG.
  • In collaboration with medical staff education manager, develops and implements strategy for recruitment and retention.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, ensures a smooth and effective onboarding experience that promotes retention and prepares team members for success.
  • In collaboration with business development creates opportunities to promote AMG business and provider activities.
  • In collaboration with marketing, creates marketing collateral to promote and attract provider candidates.
  • Coordinates Annual New Provider event for Augusta Health and additional events as identified.
  • Performs hand-on recruiting for designated or hard to fill specialties as needed, maintaining an active but limited requisition load
  • Works with clinical leaders and administrators on recruitment strategy and growth within department.
  • Evaluates the provider recruitment process for opportunities to improve efficiency, timeliness, and cost effectiveness from initial contact through position closure.
  • Collaborates with other departments (credentialing, finance, AMG clinical department, IT) to improve processes and efficiencies to support timely provider start dates and smooth onboarding process.
  • Develops programs and provides guidance on new programs and ideas to enhance the provider pipeline and retention (APP Scholars Program, spousal network/program).
  • Serves as the primary contact with third-party organizations to support recruitment efforts, including recruitment firms, consultants, vendors, realtors, Mayo Clinic, etc.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with clinical training program (residency, fellowship) contacts to establish and sustain a pipeline of qualified provider candidates for the organization.
  • Remains current on industry trends.
  • Serves as adviser for provider recruiting-related issues.
  • Acts as a company representative at various national, regional, and residency meetings.
  • Acts a lead for recruitment and provider events.
  • Supports and utilizes the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to its full functionality for tracking, monitoring, and dashboard reporting.
  • Creates and manages the recruitment budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
