Terms of Employment: 12 months

Qualifications:

Minimum - Associates Degree (preferred) in computer technology or related field
Certifications preferred - A+, Network +
Experience preferred - 5 years in computer technology or related field

The applicant should have proficient knowledge, skills, and experience in the following areas:

Computer hardware and software systems and programs
Computer networks, network administration and network installation
Computer troubleshooting
Current version of Windows Server and Active Directory
Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks
Team building skills
Analytical and problem solving skills
Decision making skills
Effective verbal and listening communications skills
Effective written communications skills
Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized, spreadsheet, word-processing, programs at a proficient level

Essential Job Functions:

Troubleshoot all technology issues
Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources
Research current and potential resources and services
Provide network access to all staff and students
Install work stations
Connect and set up hardware
Load all required software
Provide network accounts and passwords as required
Input and maintain IP addresses
Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
Identify and prepare hardware for disposal when appropriate
Ensure hardware is stripped and secured before disposal

Other Job Functions :

Assist area network specialists as directed by network manager
Assist in the management, installation, and maintenance of wireless networks
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Superintendent for Operations
