IT Support, Database Administrator
Responsible for supporting and maintaining business applications, including Enterprise ERP “Munis” (Financial and HCM), Avenity (County One suite and Utility One) and UKG Ready Time Entry systems. Provides primary help desk support, troubleshooting system issues and assisting users across departments.
Ensures data accuracy, system functionality, and process efficiency through effective system use and continuous improvement efforts. Collects, manages, and reports on system data, utilizing established interfaces and documentation standards.
Assists in developing and maintaining procedures for data entry, data integrity, reporting, and data recovery. Generates reports and supports business operations through accurate and timely information.
Provides daily technical support and user training, delivering clear guidance to internal staff, external partners, and the public. Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills in all interactions.
Complete various daily General Ledger and Accounts Payable imports into Munis from third party software as well as export files from Avenity software for journal import.
Setup general ledgers accounts in Munis upon request and assist with maintaining the Chart of Accounts. Maintain cross reference mapping files.
Assist with creation of new end user accounts in both Munis and Avenity, disabling accounts as needed as well as assisting with the annual review of users in both systems. Imports new employee profiles into UKG Ready.
Assist with maintaining workflow business rules in Munis and conducts periodic reviews of those rules.
Assist Financial and Payroll end users with adhoc import requests.
Provide daily end user support, troubleshooting and analysis to end users of both systems.
Ability to work with multiple agencies balancing their various missions and time sensitivity needs for an agreeable balance amongst all groups involved. Assists team with testing Munis, Avenity and UKG Ready supported systems in support of periodic releases, upgrades, and workflow changes.
Primary support for users of the Munis, Avenity and UKG Ready supported systems. Escalates requests when needed in support of the information systems team. Responds to inquiries from the public, County staff, vendors, consultants, citizens, school system, affiliated outside organizations, as well as state and federal agencies.
Required to protect confidential information that may include Personally Identifiable Information and other sensitive information.
Assists other County departments and agencies with developing business practices that ensure data accuracy, and enhance employee efficiency.
Performs testing on the customer interface aspects of the software functionality.
Reviews and updates documentation for Munis, Avenity and UKG Ready supported systems.
Associate’s degree preferred with 1-2 years of experience in finance, computers, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Requires an acceptable criminal background investigation, including an acceptable applicant fingerprint check required by the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy.
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include criminal history, background checks, and DMV record checks.
- Working knowledge of business applications, information systems, and system support processes.

- Working knowledge of reporting tools and software used for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to document technical information in an accurate and user-friendly format.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical users.
- Ability to train users on applications and clearly demonstrate software systems to customers.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and learn new systems quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with multiple departments and agencies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computers, particularly the use of relational databases.
- Fundamental knowledge of financial concepts and calculations.
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
This position is considered an Essential Position (County designation as ALPHA) which requires the employee to report to work during inclement and extreme weather conditions, often outside normally scheduled work hours, or as notified by a supervisor.
The earliest start date for this position is July 13, 2026.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of office equipment, engineering machinery and tools including a level, blueprint machine, computer, calculator, drafting instruments, etc. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle.
