DescriptionThe Sales Engineer provides technical expertise during pre-sales activities and supports the development of solutions that align with customer requirements. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to understand needs, design technical recommendations, contribute to proposals, and participate in capability briefings and demonstrations.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the technical point of contact during pre-sales discussions and capability briefings
- Translate customer requirements into clear solution concepts and technical recommendations
- Contribute to technical sections of proposals, including narratives, solution outlines, and level-of-effort inputs
- Collaborate with program managers and technical SMEs to design feasible and scalable solutions
- Support product or service demonstrations, presentations, and customer meetings
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies, industry trends, and customer environments
- Assist in developing technical marketing materials or capability statements as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve or expand technical solutions during the sales cycle

Position RequirementsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Technical understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity concepts, or engineering environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience supporting customer-facing or stakeholder-facing technical discussions
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Pre-Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar technical role
- Experience contributing to proposals or supporting business development efforts
- Familiarity with RMF, NIST frameworks, cloud services, or cybersecurity technologies
- Ability to develop solution architectures or technical diagrams
- Active clearance or ability to obtain one (if applicable to the role or industry)
