Overview

The Business Strategy Advisor leads evaluation of strategic objectives, shapes strategic direction, and supports decision making based on business trends and data analytics. The role focuses on transformation enablement strategies within Fed Ex Data & Technology (D&T), guiding Organizational Change Management, Culture, Employee Experience, and Leadership Development during enterprise-level digital transformation. The candidate will foster stakeholder relationships and ensure leaders have visibility into Data & Technology’s strategic direction and required behaviors to achieve future state and business objectives.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Under Limited Supervision, drive transformational change by leading change management strategies that align culture, mindset, and stakeholder adoption to support long-term organizational transformation.
  • Enable change governance by supporting governance decision‑making, guiding alignment across forums, and translating leadership decisions into operationalized change narratives.
  • Track and measure adoption by defining and operationalizing change adoption metrics, leader engagement dashboards, and transformation outcome tracking to provide leadership visibility into change effectiveness.
  • Shape the narrative by applying change management methodologies to identify strategic issues and using data sources to build a cohesive transformation narrative and a clear vision for Digital Transformation.
  • Advise and influence strategy by evaluating strategic objectives, formulating direction, and influencing decision-making based on business trends, data analytics, and strategic frameworks.
  • Mobilize culture by mapping enterprise culture values to a detailed change and culture plan supporting all levels of Data & Technology.
  • Drive leadership and manager alignment by conducting leadership action planning to empower leaders as change agents with clear communication of the need for change.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, and develop analyses grounded in deep understanding of business, industry, market trends, customer segments, and competitive strategy.
  • Predict market changes and summarize insights from proprietary and third‑party data to create distinctive insights.
  • Develop and implement business analyses, manage business case development, and conduct business‑at‑risk assessments.
  • Develop strategic frameworks and manage processes to build business scenarios.
  • Provide a point of view on key strategic issues across major dimensions of the business.
  • Manage ongoing discussions with peer partners in other internal work groups and international regions with clear fact‑based recommendations.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings and provide guidance to peers and managers in partner teams.
  • Interface with areas across the enterprise to discuss changes impacted by strategic recommendations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Leadership alignment and the ability to champion leadership conversations and forums to align leaders on a shared vision for strategic execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Vision translation to effective strategic narratives and the emotional case for change that turns understanding into action.
  • Program management for change implementation, sequencing culture activities, and managing dependencies across work streams.
  • Navigating ambiguity with a framework for delegation and accountability in a multi‑year digital transformation.
  • Inspiring communication with clear, memorable vision statements aligned to transformation intent.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration across core pillars of Digital Transformation.
  • Business acumen with understanding of technology trends and modernization.
  • Five (5) years of related experience in Change Management and Communications in a technology organization.
  • Experience enabling transformational change management methodologies with embedding lifestyle shifts within a technology environment.
  • Organizational Change Management certification (CCMP, Prosci, etc.) is preferred.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative business field or closely related technical field. A related Master’s Degree equals two (2) years of experience.
