Accessibility Engineer
We are seeking an Accessibility Engineer to support Marketing Technology Services Delivery teams. This is a hands-on engineering and influence role focused on embedding accessibility into frontend components, design systems, author flows, and Adobe Experience Manager implementations. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with product owners, designers, developers, and management to ensure fully accessible websites and digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accessibility expertise and coaching to teams across the enterprise.
- Develop accessible code patterns for developers to use in new products.
- Assist developers in fixing code issues to create more accessible products.
- Consult with teams on integrating accessibility automation into their processes using various frameworks and tools.
- Interpret accessibility audits to drive improvements and facilitate methodology discussions.
- Co-lead accessibility training for developers, designers, and testing teams.
- Provide ADA-compliant solutions, including component implementation guidance and code samples.
- Implement accessibility in code and scale best practices across multiple teams.
Required Qualifications
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required.
Experience:
Candidates should have experience as an Accessibility Engineer with a strong background in frontend and design systems. Experience in an environment with AEM-driven digital experiences, reusable UI components, and modern web applications is also required.
Technical
Skills:
- Expert knowledge of accessibility standards and policies (e.g., WCAG 2.0 A & AA, ARIA, ADA, Section 508).
- Expert understanding of HTML and the use of ARIA, with intermediate knowledge of CSS and JavaScript.
- Advanced knowledge of accessibility barriers and the tools and techniques to identify them.
- Advanced knowledge of assistive technology such as screen readers and magnifiers.
- Advanced knowledge of Git and Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of mobile and document accessibility.
- Familiarity with SAFe and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to multi-platform and cross-browser testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Internet or mobile usability and accessibility research.
- Prior experience in accessibility consulting.
- IAAP WAS, CPWA, ADS, CPACC, and/or DHS Trusted Tester v5 certifications.
